Behind the Music
My name is Loris Holland, artist name, TimeShadow.
I am a producer, composer, arranger, singer, keyboardist, and writer.
Born in Guyana, I grew up in a musical family, always surrounded and influenced by a wide variety cultures and musical styles (Classical, Sacred, Reggae, African Folk, Calypso, Jazz, Gospel, Country, R&B, and Rock). I played classical music by day, in my mother’s music school, but expressed my deep passion for Reggae and Calypso, by night in various Reggae bands during my teens. Growing up Caribbean was a tribal rhythmic experience rooted from traditional African music, which stayed with me even after I moved to the USA, and was exposed to and influenced by new amazing musical cultures.
Over the years, I was blessed, to be the recipient of three Emmy awards, and the producer of multi Grammy award projects. I was also privileged to have worked with amazing iconic super talented creative souls such as: Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Mariah Carey, Shirley Caesar, Patti LaBelle, Celine Dion, Lauryn Hill, Smokey Robinson, Al Green, Carlos Santana, Maxi Priest, Sister Carol, LL Kool J, George Clinton, the Winans, Sheila E., Michael McDonald, Jonathan Butler, James Ingram, Deniece Williams, Mary J Blige, Anita Baker, Edwin Hawkins, Walter Hawkins and Tramaine Hawkins, The Roots, and a host of others. After producing so many other artists and styles for decades, I have finally decided to release my own artistry, going back to the roots of my musical passion, as TimeShadow, Worldbeat artist and peace pusher.
